Canon T2i/550D Issues
Over the weekend I had the opportunity to be involved in a 24-hour film festival. In other words, My team and I had 24-hours to write, shoot, and edit a 6 minute short film.
(In a later blog I will post the film I made, once it is premiered)
Anyways, in this 24 hour period I had the chance to get very intimate with my new love, the Canon Rebel T2i/ 550D. While getting to know my new camera I learnt of many great things this camera can do. However, I also found out first hand some of the T2i's down falls.
Over heating:
For our film we had to film a pretty extensive interview scene in a small room packed with a handful of 250 and 500 watt lights. About 1 hour into filming the camera started to heat up. A red thermometer warming light appeared on the LCD screen. We had to stop filming and let the camera cool off.
Focus pulling:
I do not currently have have any sort of LCD viewfinder viewer; I am using the EOS utility program as an external viewer. However it can be very leggy and unclear. This made it very had to pull focus correctly. This just proves the necessity of having an LCD viewer, or an HD monitor.

New Camera, New Regime.
I recently bought a Canon EOS T2i/550D; And with that join the community of HD-DSLR Filmmakers. It is quite the learning curve, however there are many many many online resources and people in the exact same situation as myself.
So with that said, I will now be using tis blog as a place to give my reviews, opinions, and advice regarding anything to do with HD-DSLR filmmaking.
Here Is the first short film I shot with my T2i, tell me what you think.
